The National Cybersecurity Coordination Centre for Malta will this month organise the first CYBER Breakfast for 2024. The event will be held on the 29th of May at AX The Palace Hotel between 08:00 and 12:00.
The discussion will focus on the building and maintenance of next-gen Security Operations Centres (SOC), while addressing the shortage of skilled workforce, as well as the reality of increasingly sophisticated threats.
The first part of the session will look into the journey of the evolution of SOC technologies, with the transformation and optimisation of their effectiveness through different tools for detection and response, deployment of best practices and through the use of emerging technologies that counter sophisticated cyber attacks.
Later, in a second session, the discussion will seek to explore the non-technological aspects of building and maintaining a SOC, such as the outsourcing of monitoring services, the shortage of skilled security personnel, the perfect profile of a SOC analyst, as well as other opportunities and challenges.
