CYBER Breakfast: 29 | 5 | 2024

We are delighted to announce a CYBER Breakfast, a gathering of the National Cybersecurity Community, to explore the building and maintenance of next-gen Security Operations Centres (SOC), while also addressing the workforce and skills gap challenge.

This event will take place on Wednesday, 29th May 2024, between 08:00 and 12:00, at the AX The Palace Hotel in Sliema.

Join us for a morning filled with discussions, networking opportunities, a review of key developments, and insights on the prospects of the National Cybersecurity Community and the Consultation Council.

During the first part of the morning, the Principal Information Security Engineer at Elastic Security, Mr Christopher Cutajar, will delve into the hunt for a state-of-the-art Security Operations Center, where integrating cutting-edge technologies like SIEM (Security Information and Event Management), SOAR (Security Orchestration, Automation and Response), and XDR (Extended Detection and Response) is essential.

The session will dive deep into each technology, its importance in future-proofing a SOC, and best practices. The session will divulge insights from real-world examples where SIEM, SOAR, and XDR have been effectively combined to manage security in multi-cloud architectures.

The second session, moderated by Mr Kenneth Bone from the National Cybersecurity Consultation Council, and held between panelists Mr Reuben Gauci, SOC Service Manager – MITA and Mr Stefan Saliba, IT Operations Security Manager – Betsson Group, will then seek to address the non-technology related sides of building and maintaining a SOC, such as the managed service approach, the workforce and skills gap, the perfect profile of a SOC analyst, as well as other opportunities and challenges.

This event is open strictly to Community Members.
