A Maltese woman spoke to the local news portal one.com.mt after she almost got tricked into an online scam when she responded to a crypto currency advert.
The case happened when a company with the name WiseBanc posed as a financial intermediary and asked people to create an account with them, and give personal details and a €500 deposit.
The Maltese woman explained to one.com.mt that the website looks authentic and its very easy to fall for this scam given that the authenticity is verified by a call by one of their representatives.
According to research done by one.com.mt, there were many other victims who reported money fraud from this website.
