The European Cybersecurity Competence Centre (ECCC) is allocating €390 million under the Digital Europe Programme (DEP) 2025-2027 to enhance cybersecurity across the EU. This funding aims to strengthen cyber resilience and support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in developing innovative security solutions.
Throughout this period, the ECCC will launch calls for proposals to fund cybersecurity research, technology advancement, and industrial development. The focus will be on projects that drive the adoption and deployment of advanced cybersecurity tools.
A key priority will be AI-driven cybersecurity systems, supporting entities that develop solutions for:
- Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) analysis for faster detection and response.
- Automation of large-scale processes to enhance efficiency.
- Pattern recognition in cybersecurity data, enabling rapid threat identification and decision-making.
Additionally, funding will be directed toward improving EU-wide cyber resilience by ensuring compliance with critical cybersecurity regulations and directives, including the NIS2 Directive, the Cyber Resilience Act, the Cybersecurity Act (CSA), the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the AI Act.
