We are thrilled to announce the CYBER Breakfast – Year in Review event, a special gathering of the National Cybersecurity Community to reflect on the dynamic developments in cybersecurity throughout 2024.
This event will take place in the form of a business breakfast on Wednesday, 11th December 2024, from 08:00 to 12:00, at AX The Palace Hotel, Sliema.
Join us for a morning of insightful discussions, valuable networking opportunities, and a comprehensive review of key advancements and challenges in cybersecurity. We’ll also explore the future direction of the National Cybersecurity Community and the Consultation Council.
The morning session will kick off with a panel discussion moderated by Donald Tabone, Vice-Chair of the Consultation Council. The panel will explore the current cybersecurity landscape across both the private and public sectors, featuring insights from representatives within the Consultation Council. Panelists include Josef Sammut, Kevin Abela, Carmel Vella, and Clinton Farrugia, who will share their perspectives on the challenges and developments of 2024. They will also highlight the initiatives undertaken, their impacts, and the priorities being set for the coming months. Following this discussion, a recorded address by Keith Barbara, representing the gaming industry, will provide additional insights.
After a brief break, Kirsten Cremona, Consultation Council Advisor, will moderate a fireside chat featuring Academia and Research Representatives Mark Micallef and Robert Abela. This discussion will spotlight the contributions of the University of Malta, MCAST, and other institutions in achieving key milestones and establishing strategic priorities.
The session will conclude with a presentation by Kenneth Bone, Chair of the CVD Working Group, accompanied by Gavril Flores, a member of the group. They will provide updates on the group’s recent actions, outcomes, and ongoing initiatives.
